HP uses a branded variation of the Intel chipsets in their latest Laptop models and Intels detection-routine for the driver has not excluded these variations. If you are dealing with the notorious Intel Extension update loop in Windows Update, the most effective solution is to hide the problematic driver update. This issue often occurs when Windows misidentifies the metadata of a driver you already have, causing it to continuously reinstall. To resolve this, you should check if you have the latest version of the Intel drivers installed. You can do this through Windows Update by following these steps: Go to Settings Update & Security Windows Update. Click on Check for updates to see if there are any new driver updates available. The repeated Intel - Extension installation may be caused by Windows Update not recognizing the driver correctly or a bug. If you are not encountering issues with your computer, you can hide this update using the Show or Hide tool so Windows will not try to reinstall it again. When I run Windows Update it repeatedly downloads an “Intel - Extension - 2.1.10100.37”, despite it being installed every time. It's constantly wanting to install these Intel Extension updates even though I've installed the newest already. Also latest Intel ver 31.xx.xx integrated GPU drivers from DELL is already installed. I don't know about the Intel extension but I can tell you what worked for me (eventually) with KB5089549. I restarted a few times to try to get updates to download. They seem to take a long time this has only been a problem with the May updates.
